Course Information

This course will cover phonetic field method technique used to document the phonetic structure of an under-documented language. We will work with a native speaker consultant, and use lip video, static palatography, static linguography, and ultrasound recording techniques to describe the segmental contrasts found in the language. Acoustic techniques such as vowel formant measurements and locus equations will also be covered.
