Master-Apprentice Adult Immersion

Joshua Hinson

Location: Preston Hall 206

Week 2: Monday, June 23-Thursday, June 26

Period 3: 2:15-3:45 pm

This workshop will introduce participants to the Master-Apprentice Language Learning Approach developed by Dr. Leanne Hinton (UC Berkeley). We will examine the origins of this approach and its foundations in second language acquisition theory. We will discuss its application in several indigenous communities across the United States. Through a variety of language immersion experiences, we will explore this approach and consider how it might be best applied in participants' language communities.
