This workshop introduces students to the basics of filming, capture, editing, storage, and mobilization of video footage for linguistic documentation. The hands-on format of the course allows students to practice new skills as they are presented. In addition to the technical aspects of video production, we explore the pros and cons of various hardware and software options. In addition, we discuss ways of creating maximally useful finished products. Cameras will be available for student use during the workshop, however students are encouraged to bring their own cameras if they have them available.
